Three Possible Test Results Of Exploro Highly Sensitive THC (Marijuana, Weed, Pot, etc.) Urine Drug Testing Strips

What does a faint "T" line on a THC drug test mean?

If you see only one "T" line or don't see any lines at all, it means that the result of your test is invalid (see the picture below) and you need to re-take the test.

Invalid Test Result Of Exploro Highly Sensitive THC Urine Drug Test For Home Use

However, when you see two lines (no matter how faint or dark the "T" line is), it means that the result of your test is negative (see the picture below). If the “T” line is very faint, that means that the concentration of THC in your body is somewhere around 50 ng/ml, which is the cut-off level of the test strips.

Negative Test Result Of Exploro Highly Sensitive THC Urine Drug Test For Home Use

When only Test line ("T") shows up, is it a positive result?

No, in this instance, the Control line ("C") did not show up, therefore, the test is invalid. For a positive test result only the Control line ("C") must be visible.

Why is the top line ("C") not showing on my test strip?

If the Control line ("C") is not showing on your THC test strip, please review the procedure and repeat with a new test strip. In some cases, the Contro line ("C") may not show up because you may have flooded the test by putting too much urine on it, or the urine was added too fast.

Why am I getting both positive and negative results in a short period of time?

In rare cases, one can observe contradicting test results within a short period of time (even within the same day). This usually means that the concentration of THC in one's system is around 50 ng/ml (which is a detection level of Exploro® test strips).

What is the minimum concentration of a drug present in the specimen detectable by the THC test?

The THC detection threshold or cut-off level of the Exploro® test strips is 50 ng/ml.

How long can drugs be detected in the urine specimen with the THC drug test?

Detection time depends strongly on the frequency of drug use, dosage and the last time of use. THC can be detected in urine up to 35+ days after consumption, although marijuana/cannabis used chronically may stay in the system for up to 100 days, in case of a single use, these drugs stay for up to 7 days.

My test strip shows negative at 5 minutes, but after 20 minutes I find that it's positive. Why?

When you are testing your urine specimen on the presence of THC, you should follow the instructions provided together with the product. Please be sure to check your test at exactly 5 minutes and do not iterpret the results after 8 minutes. After 8 minutes, the chemical reaction is unstable, and color changes may occur.

What do positive and negative mean?

A positive result (one line - as shown in the picture below) means that the drug is above the detectable level (50 ng/ml).

A negative result (two lines - as shown in the picture below) means that the drug concentration in your urine sample is below the detectable level (50 ng/ml) or does not exist at all.

What is the best time to collect a urine sample for a THC test?

The first morning urine is typically the most concentrated. That's why collecting and testing a specimen first thing in the morning (before consuming any foods or fluids) will give the most accurate results.

What is the shelf-life of the Exploro THC test?

The shelf-life of the Exploro® THC test is about 24 months (2 years). Each box has an expiration date printed on it, so you will know exactly how long the test strips are usable for. However, we recommend that every product is used within 6 months of purchasing.

How accurate are at home urine THC drug tests?

When utilized according to the recommendations provided, the Exploro® at-home urine THC test has been proven to show >99 percent accuracy.

How do THC test strips work?

THC test strips have chemical pads or reagents, which react when they come in contact with urine (most commonly used biological specimen for drug testing). When the drug substance and/or its metabolites binds to the testing strip, it gives a positive or negative result.

Does nicotine show up on THC drug test?

THC drug test strips are intended to detect THC metabolites in urine. This is the sole purpose of the testing strips, therefore, they cannot be used to detect anything else.

What is the best way to test for THC at home?

The best way to test for THC at home is by using THC urine test strips. These are easy-to-use, 99% accurate, and give you results in 5 minutes. Also, the concentration of drug metabolites in the urine tend to be high therefore it can be detected up to 45 days after your last use.

What is the most common drug test for employment?

A urine drug test is the most common form of pre-employment testing and usually apliccants are tested for the THC substance. When performing a urine analysis for THC, the standard cutoff level for initial screening is 50 ng/ml and for cofirmatory screening - 15 ng/ml. Find out more about this topic by clicking here.

Does CBD show up on a THC drug test?

THC drug tests are designed to detect tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or its metabolites and don't screen for CBD. However, some CBD products contain small amounts of THC and can theoretically be detected on drug test.

How does the drinking of water and other fluids influence test results?

Excessive drinking of water and other fluids before taking the test will dilute the urine and the results will be not reliable. Therefore, it is recommended to take the test first thing in the morning before consuming any food or fluids.

Is it possible to test positive for THC (Marijuana/Cannabis) from exposure to passive smoking?

Absolutely not! Detected urine concentration of THC above the cut-off sensitivity level, or a positive result, is possible only through use / inhalation. However, secondhand smoking will leave traces in the system, but not at the concentrations which would indicate drug abuse.

What if my teen says that the drug test is showing false results?

The Exploro® tests have a 99% accuracy. These are the same tests used by the law enforcement, employers, etc. Make sure your child is not taking any OTC or prescribed medications that would interfere with the drug test results. Your family doctor can order confirmation testing if you believe it may be necessary.

Are there any legal medications that may trigger false positive results?

Yes, there are drug specific medications that may cause interferences. The most common problem is pseudoephedrine present in many sinus infection and cold medications, as it may cause a positive result for methamphetamine. A GC/MS confirmation, as well as an MRO review are necessary to determine the source of the positive drug test result.

I opened up a pouch, but I am not going to use it right away. Can I save it for later use?

No, once a pouch is opened the test must be used. The active ingredients of the test are moisture sensitive.

How long can the urine specimen be stored before testing?

Specimens can be stored in refrigerators at 36 to 46°F (2-8° C) for up to two (2) days (48 hours) or frozen at 32°F (0°), before testing. However, it is strongly recommended to test the sample as soon as possible after collection.

Will I test positive for THC if I regularly vape THC?

Most likely no. In most cases, "vape juice" contains a relatively low amount of THC and if a person ingests THC only by vaping, most likely he/she will see a negative result. However, it also depends on factors like the frequency of use of the vape, body weight, metabolism, amount of liquids consumed. It has been observed that if a person vapes subscription THC once a day, he/she shows negative when performing the test. That does not mean that one's body is free from THC though. The cut-off level of Exploro® test strips is 50 ng/ml. When a person vapes THC, he/she might show positive when performing the test using a lower cut-off level test.

Can I take the test during menstruation?

No. Samples of urine will most likely be contaminated during menstruation. Take the test after your period.

What is a THC test?

It's a drug test made to look for the active ingredient THC, which can be found in substances such as marijuana, ganja, weed, dank, pot, zig zag, bud, grass, hydro, hashish, etc.

Step 5. Read results exactly at 2 minutes by comparing the reaction pad color with the color scale on the card (also shown in the picture below) to see what is your level of BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) and to find out if it's safe to breastfeed your baby or not. For complete accuracy make sure you do not read the result before or after these 2 minutes!

The Color Scale from White to Blue on the Exploro Breast Milk Alcohol Test Comparing Card

Here are possible results you may get, when using Exploro breast milk alcohol test strips:

POSITIVE NEGATIVE INVALID

If your breast milk is alcohol-affected, the result will show in the scale of 0.02% (light blue) to 0.3% (dark blue), represented by the intensity of blue color.

When strip saturation pad does not show any changes of color, this indicates no alcohol has been detected.

If the reaction pad is blue before applying milk sample, do not use the test strip.

Save strips, save money! It takes time for body to get rid of the alcohol. If you find that your breast milk test is positive for alcohol, it is recommended to use the table below as a guideline for the next check.

The Color Scale from White to Blue on the Exploro Breast Milk Alcohol Test Comparing Card with Approximate Time Intervals Recommended Before the Next Check

Are breast milk alcohol test strips accurate?

Alcohol test strips for breastfeeding mothers are 99.9% accurate according to the latest laboratory studies. Provided that all the instructions are followed carefully, the same test carried out at home should have the same percentage of accuracy.

How does the Exploro Safe Milk test work?

Exploro® Safe Milk breast milk alcohol test consists of a plastic strip with a reaction pad attached at the tip. As soon as alcohol solutions come in contact with the reaction pad, it will rapidly change colors depending on the concentration of alcohol present. The pad function is based on solid-phase chemistry which employs a highly specific enzyme reaction.

Is it necessary to submerge the test strip into a cup of breast milk, or is it enough to just dab the breast milk or a few drops of it onto the saturation pad?

For better results use a little bit more than a few drops, because the first drops of breast milk might not be affected by alcohol, and it might not be detected. Therefore, we strongly advise that the test strip is submerged into a cup with some breast milk in it.

Should I wait more than 2 minutes for an exact result?

No, read the results at exactly 2 mninutes by visually comparing the color of the reaction pad with the result chart on the package to determine the relative blood alcohol level. Do not interpret results after 3 minutes. Each human body reacts to alcohol differently, so sometimes when you feel sober there still might be traces of alcohol in your system, therefore, please make sure you wait for exactly 2 minutes. After 3 minutes the chemical reaction is not reliable.

What do I do if the result is positive (alcohol detected)?

If the result is positive, please check the chart below to find out when your breast milk will be free of alcohol. Before breastfeeding ensure yourself to have alcohol free system by taking another test. Note that chart is graded regarding human's avarage alcohol split up by hours, so be sure you are checking at the right time. The more time passes, the lower the alcohol levels.

Approximate Time Intervals Table Showing the Time Needed for Breast Milk to be Free of Alcohol

* BAC - Blood alcohol content.

What do I do if the result is negative (alcohol not detected)?

If the result is negative and the saturation pad of the test strip has not shown any changes, this means that your breast milk is safe for your baby.

I feel tipsy but alcohol test shows negative?

Alcohol takes time to reach your blood system and, consequently, your breast milk. For better results, use a little bit more than a few drops, because the first drops of breast milk might not be affected by alcohol. Therefore, we strongly advise that the test strip is submerged into a cup with some breast milk in it.

I took a test and it was negative but after breastfeeding my baby, I found it to be dark blue. What should I do?

When you are testing your breast milk for presence of alcohol, you should follow the instructions that are printed on the back of the test strip package. Please be sure to check your test at exactly 2 minutes and do not interpret results after 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, the chemical reaction is not stable and color change may vary from dark blue to brown.

When is it safe to breastfeed my baby?

We recommend breastfeeding your baby when no alcohol is detected in your breast milk. In other words, when the test is negative.

What is the shelf-life of this test?

The shelf-life of the Exploro® breast milk alcohol test is one year (12 months). Each pouch and each test kit box has it's expiry date printed on it, therefore, you will know exactly for how long they will be usable. If you received the package and there is less than 6 months left to the expiry date, we will change this package for free. Do not use our breast milk alcohol test after the expiration date.

If I have pumped at 0.02%, should I discard or can I use the milk later?

If you have pumped milk and the test strip you placed in that milk shows 0.02%, then your milk will retain that alcohol content even if you refrigerate it and wait for some time. If you nurse your baby from your breast 3-4 hours later your breast milk will likely contain zero alcohol. That's because the milk in your body contains about the same amount of alcohol as your blood at any given time.

Can I dip the test strip directly into a pure alcohol drink?

The Exploro® breast milk alcohol test strips are designed only for human breast milk, therefore, avoid dipping test strips directly into any alcohol drink because it will not show reliable results due to high sensitivity of the test strip. The test may be qualitatively verified by using a test solution prepared by adding 5 drops of distilled spirits to 8 oz. (1 cup) of water. This solution should produce a color reaction on the pad. The color reaction with alcohol in breast milk is somewhat slower and less intense than with alcohol in a water solution.

Can these be used on refrigerated milk while it is still cold?

Yes, if the breast milk has alcohol, it will be detected even when refrigerated. Tests show, that the results are accurate even when breast milk is cold. However, for the best results breast milk should be at least room temperature.

What if the test result becomes light blue, but lighter than depicted in the color chart?

The Exploro® Safe Milk for breastfeeding test is very sensitive to presence of alcohol. A blue color that is lighter than the one on the 0.02% color pad should be interpreted as being positive for presence of alcohol in the milk, but its concentration in the system is less than 0.02%.
