Product Info

The Exploro Highly Sensitive Nicotine Urine Test is a competitive binding, lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of cotinine (a nicotine metabolite) in human urine at a cutoff concentration of 200 ng/ml after the use of nicotine-containing products — including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vape liquids, nicotine gum, patches, and other nicotine products.

This test is intended for visual interpretation based on color development on the test strip and provides clear results without the need for laboratory equipment. Results are determined by visually reading the appearance of colored lines after the sample is applied, following the instructions provided.

Detection level and approximate detection times
• Detectable level: 200 ng/ml
• Minimum detection time*: 24 hours
• Maximum detection time*: 10 days

*Note: Detection times are approximate and may vary depending on individual factors.

How to Use

Before you begin

• Allow the test to reach room temperature before testing.
• Prepare a watch, clock, or timer.
• Prepare a urine collection container.
• For best results, it is recommended to use the first morning urine, when urine concentration is highest.

Step 1

Collect urine in the urine collection container. Remove the test strip from the sealed pouch and use it immediately.
Note: Prolonged exposure to hot or humid environments may cause product deterioration. Do not use the test after the expiration date.

Step 2

With arrows pointing toward the urine sample, immerse the test strip vertically in the urine for 10–15 seconds. Do not pass the maximum line (“MAX”) on the test strip when immersing it. Place the test strip on a clean, non-absorbent flat surface. Start the timer immediately after urine application.

Step 3

Read the test results exactly at 5 minutes. Do not read the results after 5 minutes.
Note: Reading the results after 5 minutes may lead to inaccurate interpretation.

When is the best time to run the test?

It is recommended to perform the test using the first morning urine, as urine concentration is highest at that time. Food, fluid intake, and physical activity during the day may dilute urine and affect test results.
